Data collected by Insecurity Insight shows that between 07 October 2023 and 31 August 2026, at least 3,464 incidents of violence against or obstruction of access to health care took place across the occupied Palestinian territory. 95% of all incidents were attributed to Israeli forces. Gaza: 2,375 attacks on health care were recorded during which health facilities were damaged 455 times, 777 health workers were killed and 399 arrested. Patient access to medicine was obstructed on 303 occasions. West Bank: 1,020 attacks on health care were recorded during which health facilities were damaged 32 times, 13 health workers were killed and 198 arrested. Documented incidents 01-15 September 2026 The publicly reported incidents below are not a complete nor a representative list of all incidents that affected the provision of health care between 01-15 September 2026. The incidents below have not been verified through ground investigations. There is a delay in reporting incidents due to our open source verification protocol. Gaza 01 September 2026: In Abu Sharekh area, near Abu Sharekh roundabout, North Gaza governorate, a Civil Defence paramedic was injured in an Israeli strike and later succumbed to his injuries. Sources: Quds News Network , Quds News Network I and Quds News Network II 01 September 2026: In Al-Katiba area, west of Gaza city, Gaza governorate, the American Hospital, which was located near a UN shelter, was ordered to evacuate amid Israeli airstrikes and clashes involving an Israeli special forces unit and Palestinian fighters. The Israeli military reportedly carried out at least 13 air raids in the area. Three Palestinians, including two children and a woman, were killed and eight others injured in the strikes. Sources: Quds News Network and Quds News Network I 03 September 2026: In North Gaza governorate, Kamal Adwan Hospital temporarily suspended operations for a day and was evacuated following the advance of Israeli forces and tanks in the vicinity of the hospital amid gunfire. The decision was taken to protect health workers and patients, with services expected to resume on 06 September 2026. Sources: Quds News Network and Quds News Network I 13 September 2026: In Gaza city and governorate, a vehicle carrying 10 MSF aid workers was damaged by an Israeli airstrike on a vehicle traveling two metres away, injuring one of the workers. The bus was clearly marked as an MSF vehicle, with a large MSF sticker visible on its roof. Sources: MSF , Quds News Network and UN News As reported on 13 September 2026: Across Gaza, an unspecified number of hospital generators stopped due to the unavailability of oil, fuel and spare parts, disrupting the operation of hospitals and limiting their ability to provide electricity to vital and life-saving departments. Only limited quantities of oils that were allowed to enter the Strip. Source: Quds News Network and Shourouk News West Bank and East Jerusalem 04 September 2026: Near the Khallet al-Murabba junction, west of Al Mughayir village, Ramallah governorate, an ambulance was attacked by Israeli settlers, injuring a paramedic. Source: Quds News Network 05 September 2026: Near Al Mughayir village, Ramallah governorate, an ambulance was blocked and attacked by Israeli settlers. Source: Quds News Network 07 September 2026: In Qabalan town, Nablus governorate, a PRCS ambulance was prevented by Israeli forces from reaching the site where a person was fatally shot during the raid after allegedly carrying out a stabbing attack against an Israeli settler. The ambulance and an ambulance officer inside it were detained by Israeli forces, who also prevented ambulance crews from approaching the site. Please copy and paste this link: https://bit.ly/01-15Sept2026OPTHealth Other resources Using data collected by Insecurity Insight, the Safeguarding Health in Conflict Coalition (SHCC) identified 432 incidents of violence against or obstruction of health care across Gaza in 2025. At least 190 incidents were recorded in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Health workers were arrested, threatened, or injured; health facilities were damaged, violently raided, or surrounded; and ambulances and emergency medical teams were repeatedly delayed, blocked, or searched amid Israeli military incursions and increasingly restrictive movement and access constraints imposed across the West Bank. Most incidents were attributed to IDF troops armed with guns. Attacks on health care linked to Israeli settlers, typically armed with guns or rocks, more than doubled in 2025, compared to 2024, rising from around 2% to 9% of total reported attacks. Despite the two ceasefires, incidents continued in Gaza throughout 2025, often increasing in conjunction with IDF military movements and ground operations. On average, 2.8 attacks were reported each week during the January 2025 ceasefire, and 1.9 attacks per week from the start of the October ceasefire through December 31, 2025. During both ceasefires, four health workers were killed and two others injured, and the IDF shelled a clinic in Jabalia IDP camp, injuring multiple people, including a pregnant woman.
