SAN DIEGO — A federal court in California declined to toss class false advertising claims against Alen, an air purifier manufacturer that represented its products as being High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) grade products, when in fact they did not meet those requirements. There is no evidence the company conducted the industry tests needed to call their products “True HEPA” and “medical grade,” so an average consumer could have been duped by the products’ marketing.
